You, November 2001 Grunt Gallery, Vancouver, British
Columbia, presented during Live: biennial of performance art A sound-based costume using the cutlerly
dress, comprised of sixty pieces of silver-plated utensils
affixed to the front and back of a cotton knee-length, sleeveless
frock. This performance questioned aspects of restriction
(self-imposed and forced), habit, belonging and transformation.
Offering plates of chocolate cake (and cutlery) to the individual
audience members, I garnished each slice with a freshly cut
lock of hair from my (and occasionally a willing audience
member's) head.

In a starkly lit environment, six nude caucasian people played
The Game of Risk. "Moves" were made by eating forkfuls
of a large piece of chocolate cake placed at each person's table-setting.
A whole, un-touched cake sat pristinely in the centre of the
table hence in the middle of the game and on top of the
world. With the participation of Sylvette Babin, Stephen Cacclin,
Paul Couillard, Louise Dubreuil and Tagny Duff.
